Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A family member, caregiver, attorney, or other coordinator can arrange the appointment. We’ll need the signer’s name, appointment location, document type, preferred time, and contact information for the person coordinating the visit. The signer must still personally participate in the notarization.

Yes. The person arranging the appointment may also pay for the service. Let us know in advance who will be responsible for payment so we can coordinate the appointment correctly.

Yes. SoKreyol provides mobile notary appointments at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and similar care locations, subject to availability and any visitor or access requirements at the location.

Yes. We can travel to assisted-living communities, care facilities, and other appropriate residential settings. Please provide the location, room or unit information, and any check-in instructions when scheduling.

Yes, if the document has already been prepared and is ready for execution. For a Florida Power of Attorney, the principal generally must sign in the presence of two subscribing witnesses and acknowledge the document before a notary. Requirements may differ for documents prepared under another state’s law. SoKreyol does not prepare or select Power of Attorney forms or provide legal advice.

A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver license, state identification card, or passport, is usually the easiest option. Florida law also recognizes certain other forms of satisfactory identification. If the signer does not have a current photo ID, contact us before scheduling so we can review the available identification options.

Yes. For an in-person SoKreyol appointment, the person whose signature is being notarized must personally appear before the notary at the time of notarization. Florida law does not allow a notary to notarize someone’s signature when that person is not appearing before the notary.

Witnesses are not automatically included with a mobile notary appointment. If your document requires witnesses, let us know before booking. Depending on the appointment and availability, witness coordination may be possible, or you may need to arrange your own witnesses.

No. SoKreyol can perform the appropriate notarial act, but we do not prepare legal documents, choose forms, interpret legal language, or advise you about what a document means or whether you should sign it. Questions about the legal effect of a document should be directed to the attorney or organization that prepared it.

Family & Care appointments use SoKreyol’s normal mobile-service pricing. Standard mobile appointments begin at $65 within the included travel area, with additional charges possible for extended travel, additional notarizations, after-hours appointments, witnesses if available, or other specialty requirements. We confirm the total price before dispatch whenever possible.

Contact us before booking. Florida law provides procedures for certain signers with physical disabilities, including circumstances where a notary may sign at the signer’s direction when specific requirements are met. Additional witnesses may be required. We need to understand the situation before confirming the appointment.

A notary must be able to communicate with the signer sufficiently to perform the notarial act and cannot proceed simply because a family member wants the document signed. If there are concerns about the signer’s ability to understand or willingly participate, tell us before the appointment. SoKreyol does not make medical or legal competency determinations.

Yes. The document should be prepared and substantially complete before the appointment. Do not sign the portion requiring notarization in advance unless instructed to do so. Florida law prohibits a notary from notarizing an incomplete or blank document.

Sometimes. Hospitals and care facilities may have visitor, security, parking, check-in, or room-access requirements. The person arranging the appointment should confirm that the notary can access the signer and provide any necessary instructions before the appointment.

Same-day and after-hours appointments may be available depending on location, travel distance, signer readiness, and the existing schedule. Call or text for the fastest availability check.
